Ok, how are you feeling? Did you do it? If you’re response is “Did I do what?” then the answer is pretty obvious. Did you get outside and do something fun last week? I chopped up trees and cleared brush on my grandparent’s farm for several hours. Not the usual outdoor activity for most but it must be effective. My grandfather was out there doing it with us – and he’s 91! Maybe he’s the one who’s got it figured out…
How about making decisions in advance and portion control? Portion control started out being hard, but after about a week I stopped being hungry after one portion. Perhaps my stomach shrank (to an appropriate size).
This week lets focus on drinking more water. You may not have a problem with this, but most people do. I didn’t say drink fluids, I said drink water. Good, old fashioned H2O. No carbonation, no flavors, do it in the naked form. Water curbs your appetite, it’s good for your skin, it prevents many, many problems, and strengthens your immune system. Johns Hopkins University did a study on water several years ago. They concluded that 67 percent of ALL sickness and disease could be prevented by drinking more water! Just think about that for a minute.
My workouts have been bumped up a notch. I’m timing my breaks closely, generally 30 to 60 seconds. This keeps my heart rate up which burns bodyfat during the workout. Your physical challenge this week is to bump your resistance training up a notch. If you are lollygagging around the gym, start using the stopwatch and limiting your break time. If you are training once a week, make it two. If you are still thinking about getting started, start! If you don’t know how to do it, get some help. That’s what we’re here for. If you cannot afford training, do some research. There’s plenty of instructional videos on this site, and there are lots of other sources.
Are you awake yet? I am.

The weather has been so nice here the last few weeks I hardly have an excuse! I am new to your blog but I am enjoying it. I will try to do all these small challenges over the next week. I am a gamer and I know I need to move more to counteract this secondary lifestyle.
Thanks for sharing this, I think I’m motivated enough about trying another portion control. I’ve tried it but I just couldn’t follow it like you guys do because I keep on getting hungry. Perhaps I really need to try to do it longer than two weeks. Probably even for one month and hope that my stomach adjusts smoothly.
The problem with this is that I can’t drink too much water! Whenever I do, I also require to go to the bathroom more often which really affects my time when I’m in the office doing lots of stuffs. Thank you for providing the sources here by the way. They’re really helping me overcome this.
I going to start drinking more water. I usually add a little flavor to it with those little flavor pouches but I’ll quit doing that as much. I’ve started a new exercise program but I’m also thinking about increasing my days. You’ve got me motivated now.
Get used to drinking water without favoring it. You may not like it at first, but it will certainly pay off when you wake up one day and realize you enjoy the taste!
I know I don’t drink enough water and I’ve heard all the benefits before about drinking it’s. I don’t understand why I have a mentors block when it comes to drinking it. I’m going to start today with maybe a glad before my meals and see how I do at it.
I cannot stress enough how important water is to our well-being. Johns Hopkins University once did a study on it. The results showed that 67% of all sickness and disease could be prevented by drinking more water!
