5 Tips for the Summer Holiday Season

Holiday party season will soon be here again, how you enjoy it depends on how you prepare for it. For many people, the summer holiday season is the favorite time of the year; it’s time to visit the family, gather together, hang out at the beach with friends, and go to vacations on exotic islands and much more. The fun and relaxation that comes with holiday season make it definitely worth preparing for.

Unfortunately, summer holidays can pose a great risk to your health; it can wreak havoc to your diet and routine due to too much drinking, overeating and lack of adequate sleep. If you don’t plan, you may find yourself adding weight. It’s, therefore, necessary to plan before diving into the fun. Our Nashville personal trainers have come up with a list of fitness tips to help you enjoy this summer holiday season.

Prepare Mentally

You will enjoy your party more if you are mentally prepared for it; even the extroverts still need to get into the right frame of mind when going to a party. Preparation is vital especially if you are shy or socially anxious. If you are nervous about the party, start by acknowledging that you are nervous and then do away with the fear of rejection. Tell yourself that you look awesome and you are going to enjoy yourself at the party no matter what.

Wear Whatever Feels right

It is always a bad idea to overdress in order to impress. Don’t stress over your outfit as long as the party is not formal. Wear whatever you are comfortable in. Remember, if it doesn’t feel right, don’t wear it. You don’t want to be at a party wondering why you are the only one that doesn’t feel comfortable. What you wear is a vital part of enjoying the party; make it simple, comfortable and right.

Eat before a Party

Eating before going to a party will help you manage your appetite. If you are watching your weight, you will be less likely to fall for the temptation of sampling every hors d’oeuvre that passes by. Moreover, it is never a good idea to drink on an empty stomach.

Before you leave the house, treat yourself to a small snack of nuts or a Greek Yogurt even if you don’t feel like it.

Drink water

Water is very important in between drinks especially if you don’t want to make a fool of yourself at your office party. Moreover, it will help you feel hydrated so that you will feel great when you wake up the next day.

Skip the After-party

The only purpose of the after-party is to provide a place for the group of rowdy merrymakers who want to keep the night going. This may sound like a good idea after a few cocktails, but trust me, it isn’t. After-party results to extra drinks and even late night binge-eating. 

How you enjoy your holiday experience depends on how you prepare for it!  Make this summer worth remembering without regrets.     These are great tips that many people take for granted that’s why they end up feeling horrible the next day. Out of these helpful tips, I can vouch for the importance of water and hydration, especially if travelling to warmer places. It just makes a huge difference in overall well-being during and after the party. It lessens the after effects of a hangover.
